While at Bonnaroo in the early days of June, Green Oil Nation artists Lauryn Yovino and Amy Saffner kept their passion of working with green-themed non-profit organizations by participating in art projects that used biodegradable materials to create community-themed projects.
Using completely recycled cardboard and biodegradable paint festival-goers were invited to participate in painting sessions that allowed its participants to freely paint any creative idea that came to mind.
The turn out was big, especially considering the overall size of the Bonnaroo festival that went from June 11th-14th in Manchester, Tennessee. The contributors’ paintings remained on display for the remainder of the festival.
In addition, Amy and Lauryn also worked with Looie, where artists were invited to add their own painting to giant, teardrop shaped sculptures to demonstrate art for the greater good. Looie is an organization aimed at supplying bright, creative colors to artists and buyers who want their dwellings to stand out and be creative in their own right.
Most recently, Amy and Lauryn were in Eureka Springs, Arkansas discovering the sleepy town, its street art and generally unique atmosphere. They continue to work with Strangers Helping Strangers by creating art for the non-profit organization that holds food drives at concerts and festivals in the Northeast.
